Hi, I’m Jackie.
I’m the founder of Morrow Endeavour Counselling & Psychotherapy. I was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia and currently live on the traditional land of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation.
With over ten years experience providing counselling in various mental health settings, I’ve discovered my passion in working with RELATIONSHIPS - that is, the relationship we have with ourselves, with others, or with the world around us. Understanding our relationship with ourselves is the catalyst for personal growth and healing. I’m here to help you shift from asking “what's wrong with me?'“ to understanding “what happened to me?”.
I specialise in helping individuals and couples navigate their inner and outer relationships, fostering deeper self-awareness, and supporting them in building healthier connections. My approach is rooted in compassion, empathy, and a commitment to creating a supportive space for all.
A little about me…
Something that not many people know about me:
In Year 9, I had the opportunity to record my own song as part of the Kool Skools project. I recorded it onto a CD with a friend, and I sang and played guitar for the track.
What it’s like to be in therapy with me:
Lot’s of curiosity to help you dig deeper to increase insight, make the unconscious conscious, and be with your distress/discomfort in a way that is present and embodied. We do this by exploring your defense mechanisms, internal conflicts, your relationship patterns, and how your early life experiences have informed the way you relate to yourself, others and the world around you.
One of my favourite books is:
The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart – I love how the story intertwines with the natural beauty of the Australian landscape, creating a deeply resonant narrative about personal healing, family dynamics, and self-discovery.
When I’m not wearing my therapist hat, you’ll find me…
Dancing, going on bush walks, listening to a podcast, and spending time with family and friends.
What I Can Help With:

My Approach To Individual Counselling
-
If you’ve ever heard the phrase “the body keeps the score,” you may already be familiar with somatic therapy.
Somatic therapy, sometimes known as body psychotherapy, is a therapeutic approach that places importance on what we experience in the mind and the body, as well as the connection between the two.
“Somatic” itself means “of or relating to the body.”This approach can help deepen a sense of connection to oneself and to others. It can improve body sensing, relieve stress, and balance the nervous system.
Somatic therapy can treat a broad range of issues including relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, stress and anxiety, anger management, childhood abuse, sexual assault, addiction, and so much more.
-
Humanistic therapy is all about focusing on you as a whole person. It’s like having a conversation with someone who truly values and believes in your potential. This approach encourages you to explore your feelings and experiences deeply, helping you connect with your true self and grow from within. It’s a supportive way to understand yourself better and find your path forward.
-
As an integrative therapist, I draw from different therapeutic techniques to fit your unique needs. This sees me integrating a range of therapeutic approaches alongside somatic practices, such as Emotion Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, and more.
-
I respect your values, cultural background, and personal experiences. I work with curiosity to understand your identity and how cultural and historical factors influence your mental health. My goal is to make therapy feel relevant and supportive, ensuring that you feel genuinely seen and heard in a way that resonates with your unique life and experiences.
-
I look at your struggles as normal reactions to life’s challenges, not as signs of something wrong with you. Instead of focusing on labels or diagnoses, we’ll work together to understand your experiences, cultivating self-compassion and acceptance.
My Approach To Relationship Counselling
-
I help you identify and understand the repetitive patterns in your interactions that may be causing distress. These negative cycles often lead to defensive reactions and emotional distance. By recognising these patterns, we can begin to address the root causes of your conflict.
-
Together, we’ll explore the underlying needs and fears that might be driving these patterns. By delving into these deeper emotions, we can uncover what each of you truly needs from the relationship, often leading to greater insight and understanding.
-
I work to ensure that each partner’s feelings and experiences are acknowledged and validated. By creating a space where both of you feel heard and respected, we foster a greater sense of empathy and connection.
-
I support you in expressing your emotions more authentically. This helps build a stronger emotional bond between you and your partner, allowing for more meaningful and supportive communication.
-
My goal is to help you develop a secure and supportive attachment with each other. By addressing the underlying issues and improving communication, we work towards creating a relationship that feels safe, connected, and fulfilling.
